2011 News

2010 was an eventful year for the Atelier Anaut. First and foremost was the publication of the book on Felix's life and work, written by the European Art collector, Michael Simonow. The book, with approximately 150 colour plates and in three languages, is a work of art in itself, designed by the prestigious team of Ikeder in Bilbao. Book launches accompanied exhibitions in France, London and Arundel.

Another significant event in 2010 was the acquisition of six works on paper by the British Museum in London, now in their permanent collection.

The different series of new ceramics, large amphoras and platters, created with Abio Ceramicas in Huesca, Spain, were also exhibited for the first time in 2010, and have been well received. Felix will be continuing with the production of ceramics in the studio in Huesca later this year, and an exhibition dedicated to the ceramics has been proposed .

2011 started with an exhibition from the collection of Dr. Bernard Jaffa at the University of Ulster, Ireland, it included sculpture and paintings by Felix. In March The James Wray & Co. Gallery in Belfast will host an exhibition titled 'Prelude of an Irish Symphony', to include recent works (paintings, ceramics and bronzes). The book will also be presented in Ireland for the first time (by Anne Stewart, Curator of Fine Art, National Museums, N.Ireland).

In the spring his work will be included in the exhibition 'Aporias Artisticas del Siglo XXI' in the Palazzo Re Enzo in Bologna, Italy and then in 'Zaragoza, vision emocional de una ciudad', in La Lonja, Zaragoza, Spain. Also his work is to be included in the filming of 'Un Homme d'Etat', by French film director, Pierre Courrége.

In May and following the theme of Felix's 'World Symphonies', his first major symphony will finally be opening in Zaragoza, Spain. 'The Zaragoza Symphony' is an ambitious project which will not only include Felix's 'visual music', the paintings, but also bring to reality one of the artist's dreams, to have the real music composed from his works. Gonzalo Alonso, acclaimed Spanish composer, has created the real symphony. The piece includes an aria written by Felix and to be sung by the international soprano Marta Almajano. The whole project will be accompanied by a catalogue, cd recording and video. With a very innovative installation, the project is curated by Carlos Buil & Ricardo Marco, and sponsored by the Caja Rural de Aragon Foundation. The opening will include a live performance and the exhibition will be hosted for two months in the city centre galleries of the foundation in Zaragoza.

Felix continues to work on his musical themes, preparing further 'Symphonies' notably for Ireland, France and London.

During the summer Felix will continue to participate in projects in the South West of France, as he does annually (last year with three different events). Finally with the arrival of the autumn and winter Felix will be exhibiting with the Barnard Gallery in Cape Town, South Africa, and finally in a public venue in Bilbao, Spain.
